Smallwood Oration 2019 “Cervical Cancer; A problem solved?”

Vaccines to prevent HPV associated cancers have been available for 13 years. While clinical trials efficacy is good, and Australian figures show a marked reduction in cervical precancer, the challenge remains to deliver effective control of cervical cancer on a global basis. The opportunities and challenges for achieving cervical cancer eradication will be discussed.
