In an increasingly constrained funding environment, philanthropic contributions are becoming more and more significant for Victoria’s health and medical research community.
Dr Noel Chambers is the CEO of the National Foundation for Medical Research and Innovation (NFMRI), which helps philanthropy make a difference by supporting gaps along the innovation pathway and applying resources, networks and knowledge.
The NFMRI’s primary objective is to support innovative areas of biomedical research to help benefit mankind through the prevention or treatment of diseases.
Noel’s presentation is a great chance for researchers and clinicians to gain insights into, and better understand, the process of partnering with philanthropies for mutually-beneficial outcomes.
The next NFMRI Annual Grant Round will open expressions of interest in January 2018 and will focus on two social investment portfolios:
- Support for strategic collaborative research activities focussed on advancing research and validating directions
- Bridging the “Valley of Death” where research is required to attract and compete for potential investors and collaborators
Come along to learn what NFMRI funding can do for your research!
