Jan’s international experience in research, commercialisation and management was gained in both the public and private sectors through commercial and innovation roles at Pfizer, CSL, the CRC for Vaccine Technology and CSIRO. She is a Collaborative Professor at Osaka University, a Principal Fellow in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Melbourne, a Fellow of the Australian Society for Microbiology and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A Non-Executive Director of AusBiotech, Jan contributes to a range of government and university advisory councils across the research and health sectors. Previously she was a Board Member of Tweddle Child and Family Health Service and a Board Trustee of the Licensing Executives Society ANZ.

Dr Vivian Ritcher

As Engagement Manager, Viviane works to develop member involvement in BioMedVic’s research training and clinical research initiatives. Viviane is the program manager of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and coordinator of the Victorian Clinician Researcher Network (VCRN). With a background in research and science communication she is passionate about developing opportunities for emerging scientists and communicating research success stories from across the BioMedVic membership. Viviane completed her Honours degree in pharmacology at the University of NSW and a PhD in biochemistry at La Trobe University. Her science writing has been published in Nature, Cosmos Magazine, Ingenuity and A*STAR Research.

Debbie Dorfan

Debbie is the longest serving staff member at BioMedVic, joining the organisation in 2006. Debbie has qualifications in Industrial Psychology (Honours) & Knowledge Management (Graduate Diploma). Debbie’s extensive HR and administrative experience supports the program to be the great success that it is today. She ensures that contact with the UROP office is professional, welcoming and personal for all stakeholders.
